Only Abstraction 2019 Show Winners Announced

The Red Cliff Gallery is proud to present its Summer Art Show that will run from June 21 through August 29 in the Red Cliff Gallery. The theme of the show is “Only Abstraction”.
The show features 231 works of art from 63 Southern Utah Artists. The show consists of contemporary art from all mediums including all forms of painting and mixed media, photography, pottery, sculpture and other. All the art is for sale.
The show is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
The Red Cliff Gallery is located in the St. George City Commons Building, 220 N 200E, in St. George.
The “Summer” award winners are:

First Place Painting – John Mangels for “Overlap” – Acrylic
Second Place Painting – Mathew Owen Walker “Universe 3” – Acrylic on Canvas
Third Place Painting – Susan Holben for “Fins” – Acrylic
Painting Honorable Mention – Kari Frymier for “Frequencies” – Acrylic
Painting Honorable Mention – Allan Merrill for “Night Flight” – Pastel
First Place Photography – Gary Alba for “Dance of the Corn Lily”
Second Place Photography – Ilene Bandringa for “Vintage Springs”
Third Place Photography – Jo Ann Merrill for “Architectural Abstract”
Photography Honorable Mention – Ilene Bandringa for “Dripping Sandstone”
Photography Honorable Mention – Adam Elliott for “Abstract #2”
First Place 3D – Alan Curtis for “Daphne turns into a Tree” – Juniper
Second Place 3D –Connie Gates for “Guilliformes in Tide Pool” – Fused Glass
Third Place 3D – Preben Jensen for “Freckled Girl” – Stone
3D Honorable Mention – Alan Curtis for “Reaching” – Mahogany
3D Honorable Mention – Gayla Prince-Wallace for “Many Talents” – Clay
The judges for the show were Daniel Thornton and Zuleica Thornton. Dan is a painter, author, and teacher of creative art. His paintings are also reflective of impressionism and realism. Zuleica paints Italian scenery working in acrylics and oils, painting depictions of Italian countryside and community life.
